What do I do if I can't stake out my tent?

The best option would be to set up your tent like our beach campers do. We have many customers who use our tents on beaches where the ground is too soft for staking the tent.

The Flex-Bow tents operate on a tension-based system. The stake loops and guy lines are an important part of the structure and help maintain proper tension on the frame. Because of this, we recommend staking the tent securely whenever possible.

In situations where staking is difficult, such as on beaches, some customers place sandbags or other heavy weights inside the tent at the corners to help keep the tent in place. These weights allow the tension system to operate as intended and help maintain the tent's shape and stability.

Additionally, in sandy soil or other conditions where traditional staking is not possible, we recommend using a dead-man anchor for added security in windy conditions. This can be done by attaching a guy line to a buried weight or by burying a horizontal piece of wood approximately 12–18 inches deep and connecting the guy line to it. Make sure the anchor is secure before relying on it.
