Snow loads and weight limits

Modified on Tue, 7 Jul at 2:50 PM

Our tents are all-season tents for year-round use, but they not meant for extreme winter mountaineering or heavy snow loads. We recommend that if snow is in your forecast, please be available at your tent to brush snow off the roof as needed.

There is no ideal “weight limit” or “inches” of snow that the tent can withhold because many factors come into play – how much snow you are receiving/how fast it is coming down, if the snow is sticking, how wet the snow is, etc. These will all play into the amount of snow your tent can withstand and it is a variable we cannot say for sure.

The best advice we can give when it comes to snow is to not leave your tent unattended for long periods of time and be available to brush it off as necessary.
